  4. The vbiosd.tar.Z file here is a fix to:

  7. rwxr-xr-x  2/2    56153 May 26 15:21 1994 ./usr/lib/vidconf/scripts/pciinfo

  9. For problems with machines that have 32 bit I/O in their BIOS.
  10. Previous pciinfo and vbiosd could not work with 32 bit BIOS.
  11. The previous error occurred during graphics configuration
  12. with a cryptic error about BIOS int 17 call failing,
  13. illegal operand 0x66.  Something like that.
  14.  
  15. A successful graphics configuration should create a usable
  16. grafinfo file in /usr/lib/grafinfo/<card vendor>/<?>.xgi
  17. from the pci template in /usr/lib/grafinfo/<card vendor>/<?>.tmpl
  18.  
  19. These are considered Beta test at the moment until we have more
  20. confirmation that they are working.  Anyone using these should
  21. report back to rogerv@sco.COM on success AND failure.  Screen
  22. switching, or Merge zooming, to cause graphics<->text mode
  23. switches are good tests of vbiosd.

  25. To install, please save your current vbiosd and pciinfo
  26. files by moving them aside.  Then, as root, in /
  27.  
  28.     tar xvf tls058.tar
